An angelic influence…
Normally Qlix tries to keep their content to showcasing that of the emerging community in fashion, and Alexander McQueen was far from emerging…he had already arrived. However, one can’t celebrate what it is to struggle, to go against the grain, to be emerging without mentioning Mr. McQueen…the “I don’t give a damn what you think” designer of fashion.
Alexander’s McQueen’s last collection was unveiled yesterday, March, 9, 2010. The Guardian reports that at the time of his death, only sixteen outfits were 80% finished and were completed by his design team. Ironically, the clothing seemed to be inspired by angels, a mixture of religion meets mythical fantasy, royalty, and exude baroque-ness even with the prints.
A final showing of Alexander McQueen’s talent, the extent of his craft, proved only of a visionary gone to soon. RIP McQueen.
